Portugal · FPNSeason: 2026-2027 · How the TAC tables work

When were they born?

The FPN sets the escalão by year of birth. The day and month don't change the category. Everyone born in the same year moves up together when the season opens in September.

Add a birth date and the standards for that category appear.

Good to know

  • Pick the pool where the swim happened. A 25 m time is checked against the 25 m table, a 50 m time against the 50 m table. Times are never converted.
  • You don't need to know the escalão. The lookup works it out from the birth year.
  • Add a time to see the gap to each TAC and the World Aquatics points for the swim.
  • Missing a TAC closes one championship, not the season. The 200-to-100 rule and Alto Rendimento can still get a swimmer in.

Questions

Common questions

How do I know which time standards my swimmer qualifies for?

Enter the birth date, gender, pool, event and best time. The lookup finds the escalão for this season and lists every zonal and national TAC for it.

Which pool length should I choose?

The pool where the time was swum: 25 m is short course, 50 m is long course. Each pool has its own TAC table, and times are never converted.

My swimmer isn't close to any of these yet. Is the tool still useful?

Yes, and that's most swimmers. The full table shows the next TAC up, which is usually closer than you'd think.
