How entry works
- A time: a federation can enter two swimmers in an event if both have it.
- B time: it can enter one. B is the A time plus 3.5%, in every event.
- When it counts: swum between March 2, 2026 and June 20, 2027, in a 50 m pool.
- Your federation picks the team, usually at a national trials meet. An A time doesn't guarantee a place.
- Limits: at most two swimmers per event, one team per relay, and 26 men and 26 women per federation.
- Universality places let a federation with no qualified swimmer send one.
- Relays have no A or B time. Places come from team selection and rankings.
- Olympic times were not published when we last checked (July 2026). We don't print estimates.

Common questions
What is the difference between an A and a B qualifying time?
A is the faster one. A federation can enter two swimmers who both have the A time, or one with the B time. B is A plus 3.5%.
How do you qualify for the World Championships in swimming?
Swim an A or B time inside the qualifying window, then get picked by your national federation. The time makes a swimmer eligible. The federation decides who goes.
Are there Olympic qualifying times for the next Games?
Not yet published. They usually come out before the qualifying window opens, with the same A and B shape.
Why are there no relay standards?
Relay places come from team selection and world rankings, not an individual time. The document lists the relays with no time.

- WJC_2025_ENTRY, EA_SENIOR_LCM_ENTRY and EA_JUNIOR_2026_ENTRY are standardSets with ZERO cells by design -- both World Aquatics (Junior Worlds) and European Aquatics (senior + junior Europeans) select teams by Member Federation quota and ranking-based lane seeding, NOT a universal published qualifying time. This was verified directly in each federation's own regulations document (see sourceIds), not inferred.
- The 2027 edition of the WA points base times has not been published as of retrieval (2026-07-26); the current 2026 (LCM) / 2025-26 season (SCM) editions were extracted as the most recent applicable set, per contract guidance.
- cellCount (158) excludes the zero-cell standardSets and is computed programmatically (not hand-counted) by walking the 'standards' tree: LCM male/female = 20 base (17 individual + 3 relay) + 17 'A' + 17 'B' = 54 each = 108; LCM mixed = 2 (relay base only); SCM male/female = 23 base (18 individual + 5 relay) each = 46; SCM mixed = 2 (relay base only). 108 + 2 + 46 + 2 = 158.
